About Our Client

Our client is a major importer of fruit into the UK, with a history in temperature-controlled distribution. They have a well-established, extensive network, supplying a large customer base including leading retailers and food service customers.

About the Job

As Technical Manager you would ensure standards of both food quality and safety are maintained and improved upon. You would lead a QA team in monitoring product and processing systems, taking a lead in building a quality technical culture.

Responsibilities

• Ensure HACCP, BRC and legal requirements are maintained
• Lead site audits for BRC, Red Tractor, SMETA/SEDEX
• Review internal findings, identify trends, and implement appropriate preventative measures

• Involvement in the evaluation of risks and defining controls, prior to the introduction of a new process, product, or raw material.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have considerable experience in a quality or technical role within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment, you will have extensive practical experience auditing, HACCP, BRC & retailers code of practice. You will thrive and adapt under pressure; organisation will be key and you will be able to deliver results through effective people and system management. You will have good IT skills. A Food Science degree is desirable.
