Area Sales Manager | Garden Sundries | West Midlands / North Wales

Our client is a leading provider of sundries in their categories. They offer a great range of products with a real heritage and proven benefit to their customers and end users. They have supplied the major UK retailers and the independent garden centres for decades and have a great reputation for service and quality. The team is led by experienced people that are always available and willing to help the team members deliver their sales targets.
About the Job:
You will utilise your experience in delivering commercial results within the garden sector to continue the growth of the business within your territory. You will contact existing customers to continue business relationships as well as contact new/potential customers to deliver sales. You will regularly travel around your territory ensuring you maximise the use of your time to deliver sales. You will stay close with existing customers to make sure they are utilising the range of products on offer to their benefit and pro-actively seek out opportunities to cross sell more products. You will network at industry events and conferences to develop leads and identity business opportunities. You will be able to deliver exciting, tailored business proposals to existing and potential clients with real enthusiasm and passion.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven track record of delivering sales and improved commercial relationships with the independent garden centres across the Midlands and North Wales. You will be able to articulate your methods and process to show how you have influenced customers to deliver sales. You will have experience in garden sundries, ideally growing media or fertilisers and chemicals. You will need to be pro-active and be able to display a great can-do attitude. You will be able to communicate effectively with the internal team as well as with the customers.
To be considered for this role as a minimum, you will need to have a real proven track record of delivering commercial results within the independent garden sector. You will be well networked in the Midlands and North Wales and be comfortable approaching key contacts within the sector to drive sales. You will need to be organised, good with IT/Computers/PowerPoint etc. First and foremost, this is a commercial role, so you will need to be outgoing, driven and have good rapport building skills.
Competitive basic salary with an achievable commission structure to significantly increase earnings + package.
