Business Development Manager | Retail Supply Chain

You'll know what a business development role is all about. You'll go and win new business, grow accounts and increase sales. In this particular case, you'll join a division of a business that focuses on retail suppliers, such as food manufacturers, fruit packers, vegetable processors etc with a ~£50m t/o. They have ambitions to grow that business significantly. You'll be highly visible within the business and if you can come in and win another £10m of business you'll be rewarded and the toast of the town.
They have a good product range and are focused on sustainable food packaging. They are particularly strong in the fresh produce sector but have loads of scope to transfer products to other similar categories or other areas of fresh produce.
Understandably, there will be some downsides. You'll need to travel to get in front of customers and start sales processes. They'll be a team to support you and you will need to report back on sales to ensure service levels etc - Paperwork is always a favourite for salespeople, right?! The business would also like you in the office ~1 day every week or two but they are open-minded for the right person.
On the flip side of that, you'll have loads of freedom to build a sales pipeline and flexible working to work around you to deliver results.
