About Our Client
Our client is a leading fresh produce business that is going through a period of substantial growth. Their team is filled with passionate fresh produce professionals who are dedicated to offering quality services to their growers and customers. They supply UK retailers, offering first-class fresh produce to consumers across the nation. They have entered into new categories within the fresh produce sector to grow the business further and offer their services to more growers and customers. They are focused on adding value to the sector and have built long term relationships with their growers and retail customers. They work with growers across Europe, North America, South America, Africa, China, Australasia and The Middle East and are truly an international business with partnerships across the globe. They are very focused on ethically sourced, sustainable fresh produce.

About the Role
Due to the continued growth of the business and some exciting plans, our client is looking for like-minded fresh produce professionals to lead a business unit. You will utilise your knowledge of the fresh produce industry and supply chains to deliver results for the growers, retailers and our client. You will lead a team that is dedicated to particular categories to deliver end-to-end solutions from field to fork. You will build long term relationships with growers and UK retailers and help expand the business further. The business prides itself on both the quality of service and the quality of produce that they offer, so you will be someone who takes pride in what you do. You will lead the team through effective people management and will bring the team with you by influencing and motivating.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have significant experience in the importation of fresh produce, ideally fruit and/or salads, for UK retailers. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work with growers and retail customers to deliver results. You will be a proven leader and be able to motivate a team to deliver results too. Ideally, you would have a background in bringing in new grower partners and/or new/increased retail business to deliver growth. You will have strong relationships with senior retailers in fresh produce categories. You will be a team player and be able to work harmoniously within the business.

Minimum Requirements
Due to the niche areas that this role focuses on, you will need to have significant experience in the fresh produce sector souring from growers and supplying UK retailers to be considered for this role. You will need to have a procurement/commercial background and be a proven leader who can deliver results. You will also need to be a strong team player.
