The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Category Manager to take full ownership of a key product category for our client. This is a pivotal role for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives on range building, product curation, and sourcing from the Far East. You will have the autonomy to shape the category strategy and directly influence growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity to develop and refine category strategies.

  • Build and curate engaging product ranges that meet customer needs and maximise sales.

  • Source, negotiate, and build strong relationships with Far East suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, high quality, and reliable supply.

  • Oversee the full product lifecycle-from concept and development through to launch, merchandising, and performance analysis.

  • Collaborate with internal teams on pricing, promotions, and marketing initiatives to optimise visibility and sales performance.

  • Monitor margins, landed costs, and category performance to make informed, data-driven recommendations.

  • Plan and manage budgets, forecasts, and inventory to align with seasonal demand.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in category management, ideally within home décor, outdoor living, or a closely related sector.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into strategic actions.

  • Demonstrated success in building and curating ranges for retail or consumer-facing markets.

  • Solid experience sourcing and negotiating with Far East suppliers.

  • Excellent commercial acumen, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • A proactive, collaborative, and detail-focused approach, with the confidence to work independently when needed.
