About Our Client
Our client is a leading supplier of specialist fresh produce to UK retailers, wholesalers and foodservice customers. They work with a variety of growers and suppliers from around the world. The team is made up of a group of passionate individuals that all work together to serve their customers with the best quality products. They have driven efficiencies throughout their supply chain and are focused on reducing costs for their clients and suppliers. The business has a partnership with a leading service provider for packing and storage.

About the Role
In this role, you will assist the commercial team and directors of the business across multiple areas. This will include, but not be limited to, stock control/updating stock spreadsheets, order entries, transport planning, booking containers/reefers, customs clearance, shipping documentation and invoicing. You will utilise your experience and organisational skills to ensure a smooth supply of stock required to meet orders. You will be able to identify potential issues before they occur and proactively seek solutions. As this is the world of fresh produce, issues outside of your control will happen and you will need to be able to keep a calm head whilst resolving issues and focusing on solutions - all whilst keeping the team and customers up to date.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will come from the fresh produce sector and will have a background in supply chain and commercial support. You will be very organised and analytical and have strong Excel spreadsheet skills. Ideally, you will have experience in sea freight and understand the requirements of shipping manifestos, customs clearance, deep water containers/reefers etc. You will be a team player and be willing to get stuck in to get the job done whilst focusing on quality service for the customers.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have short shelf life/fresh food experience and import/transport experience as well as the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
