Commercial Manager | Frozen Food | Spalding ~£40-55k+ DOE
Are you an experienced account manager with a proven track record with Sainsburys, Tesco or other major retailers? Are you able to develop existing accounts whilst open doors to new opportunities? Are you able to work within a small team to get the job done and deliver results? If so, this could be the role for you.
About our Client:
Our client is a provider of a variety of frozen food products supplying the major UK retailers, food manufacturers and the foodservice markets. They are a relatively small business here in the UK but have ties to a larger business in Europe. With some ambitious growth plans that they have been delivering over the past ~10 years, they are in the need of a Commercial Account Manager to help them continue this growth trajectory.
About the Job:
This role could suit an established account manager with good relationships within the food retailers or someone aspiring to be a full-fledged commercial manager. You will be the right hand person to the Commercial Director and manage some key accounts whilst also looking for new business opportunities. You will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to produce accurate forecasting and orders to ensure adequate supply for your customers. You will be able to make decisions and solve problems autonomously. You will be comfortable working with the likes of Tesco and Sainsburys to drive commercial results, pitching for new business and expanding lines. You will also be comfortable hunting for new business, submitting tenders and presenting to potential customers.
The Ideal Candidate:
The perfect candidate for this role will have a background in the food industry and a history of managing the commercial relationship with Tesco and Sainsburys. You will have a track record of delivering sales and new business as well as an eye for detail. You will be able to show your ability to work with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate sales forecasts and order delivery. You will be a self starter, motivated and a good team player. You will thrive working towards targets and common goals. Team and culture fit is very important to the business, so you will be able to demonstrate your ability to get stuck in, roll your sleeves up and do what is required in a smaller business/team. You will be able to adapt your approach depending on the customer you are talking to. Someone with a background in supplying the major retailers, food manufacturers and foodservice channels would be ideal.
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you must have a proven track record of delivering commercial results with the retailers. You will also be a strong team player, have a great 'can-do' attitude, be willing to learn and be commercially driven and astute. Experience in the food industry is a must.
Our client is willing to offer a competitive salary and package, car allowance, bonus etc. As a guide, and depending on experience £40k - £55k+
