About Our Client
Our client is a dedicated service provision business that provides a reliable, professional service to their customers, which includes some of the leading retailers. They offer more than operational and packing and also cover logistics, commercial and technical services required by the customers. They have an experienced team that provides a professional and reliable service. With many years of experience in the fresh produce sector, they are able to adapt as required and have a great amount of understanding of the challenges in the sector.

About the Role
You will play a pivotal role in the company's success by ensuring the effective running of the supply chain and volumes required by key customers. You will work with the retail customers and fruit growers to plan, forecast, arrange logistics, arrange packing volumes, port clearances etc. You will run the supply chain for the retailer and manage the day-to-day of the account. You will lead a small team to deliver the best services for retailers and growers and add value to both sides. You will be able to act decisively in a very fast-paced environment and be able to problem-solve and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to get the job done. You will be offered autonomy and you will be able to implement new practices that help improve the services offered or help take costs out.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in importing fruit from South African growers for UK retailers. You will be able to show your ability to lead and develop a small team. Your experience will include customer-facing supply chain and you will be able to challenge retailers when required should it result in an improved service. A strong communicator, you will be able to build long term relationships with suppliers, growers and customers to deliver. You will be proactive in your approach and will always be looking for ways to improve the business and services offered. You will be familiar with reporting and be able to add commentary for extra insight and perspective.#

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to possess commercial supply chain experience in the fresh food sector. As a minimum, you will need to have experience supporting UK retailers with supply chains and have experience facing a retailer. You will also need to be very organised, be an excellent communicator and have experience in a fresh food supply chain which includes the importation of products.
