We are excited to be working on an interesting role with a successful ornamental plant nursery in East Anglia.

About Our Client

This is one of the larger wholesale ornamentals nurseries in the UK, growing a wide range of shrubs, climbing plants, herbaceous perennials, herbs, soft fruit and trees and supplying the leading garden retailers throughout the country. A job has arisen with them for an enthusiastic Crop Protection Manager - a key role within a small team of senior growers.

About the Role

This role will be focussed on monitoring for pests, weeds & diseases and implementing appropriate integrated pest management programmes. You will be leading and supervising a small team, to ensure that the plants are growing to the highest quality. You will be keeping up with the latest legislation and developments in crop protection and implementing new procedures accordingly. Supporting nursery trials will also fall into your remit.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have an interested in pests and diseases and a passion for horticulture. Ideally, you will have a relevant qualification and hold your PA1 and PA6. You will be able to prioritise workload, liaise with growers and have a true passion to learn. For the right person, there is also the opportunity to study towards your FACTs and BASIS.
