Background
Originally from a food retail background, Sarah was responsible for recruitment and compliance at the Stamford Waitrose branch. She started recruiting in Agriculture and Horticulture when she joined MorePeople and found a real passion for the industry. She is NVQ Level 3 qualified in recruitment and loves chatting with passionate industry professionals.
Sarah is also on the YPHA committee, a group to unite the under 35's in Horticulture. The committee focus on providing networking opportunities, furthering education and getting more young people into the industry by showcasing the great opportunities there are!
Role at MorePeople
Sarah joined MorePeople in 2019 and now manages the Horticulture and Agriculture team for all roles within that space from growers, breeders, trial officers, farmers and agronomists from graduate level to director level.
A keen advocate for getting young people into the industry, you’ll see Sarah at many trade shows across the year and taking part in panel talks and university speeches.
An interesting fact about Sarah...
Sarah has raised over £3,000 for a small NGO and spent two months volunteering with them in Ghana. On her first trip she witnessed a village with no electricity in their homes have their first street light turned on and villagers of all ages dancing underneath it! She has recently seen some of the children she taught at summer school finish secondary school and go down the university route
