About the Role

They are seeking a Engineering Shift Manager to join their team on a 4 on 4 off (days only, 6am-6pm). This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of their manufacturing processes and maintaining their high standards of production within the factory.

Responsibilities:

  • As Shift Engineering Manager, you'll oversee a team of multi-skilled engineers and apprentices, ensuring equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Leading the engineering team, driving performance and engagement.
  • Delivering proactive and reactive maintenance to keep production lines running.
  • Coordinating breakdown responses and minimising downtime.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in plant performance.
  • Supporting projects and new equipment installations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within engineering, ideally in food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • A recognised engineering qualification (electrical or mechanical).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
  • A proactive, improvement-focused mindset.
  • Electrically qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • 18th Edition qualification
  • A good team player with excellent communication skills
  • Highly motivated and eager to become a valuable member of the team
