4 on 4 off | 6pm-6am | March, Cambridgeshire
Lead from the front. Fix what's broken. Build a better shift.
This is a chance to step into a key leadership role within a busy food manufacturing site. You'll be the go-to person for all things engineering on nights - running the shift, supporting your team, and making sure production keeps moving.
It's hands-on, fast-paced and full of variety - perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, leading by example, and driving standards forward.
What's in it for you?
- 4 on 4 off nights - a clean pattern, proper time off
- Health Cash Plan - cover for everyday medical expenses
- Discounts across supermarkets, retailers, entertainment and more
- Electric car and cycle to work schemes
- Life assurance and income protection
- Ongoing leadership development and technical training
- Onsite health checks, flu jabs, and wellbeing support
- A strong internal culture - social events, community work, and team rewards
- A business recognised as a Great Place to Work
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the night engineering team - setting the pace and owning performance
- Managing priorities and coordinating breakdown response
- Ensuring planned maintenance is completed effectively
- Supporting your team with technical guidance and coaching
- Taking part in RCA, CI projects, and asset care improvements
- Driving a strong safety-first culture across all engineering activity
- Communicating clearly with day teams and other departments
- Owning shift reports, CMMS updates, and stock control disciplines
What you'll need:
- Time-served or formally qualified (NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent)
- Strong engineering background - mechanical and/or electrical
- Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Previous leadership experience - whether formal or informal
- Calm, confident decision-making under pressure
- Strong communicator who can get the best out of others
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to people, kit and process
- Sound knowledge of compliance: PUWER, LOLER, and health & safety standards
