We are working with a renowned research organization who are involved in applied field trails across arable, horticulture and polytunnel sectors. We a looking for someone to join the team in an organization where there is room to grow their career.

Our client

Our client is a world-renowned organization leading the way in farming and environmental research. Independent from any other organization they are free to work on and report impartial trials to better the environment. With a close relationship to UK farming, they ensure they know what they are talking about

The role

This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in a range of crops, one day you could be applying fertilizer in the sun on a wheat crop and the next working on an irrigation trial in a polytunnel, or organizing a herbicide trial in a glasshouse. The broad nature of the role will give you a solid foundation to your career in the field trials industry.

You will be working on a range of trials in nutrients, pathology, physiology, entomology, soils, and weed science.

You will be part of a trials team where you will work with a range of people and on your own at times.

The nature of work requires a keen eye for detail as you need to trust your results are 100% accurate so the results can be used for further projects, you will be at the forefront of applied science in the sector.

The candidate

This role would suit anyone who likes to get their hands dirty. With an eye for detail, you will be able to understand and follow instructions to the letter to ensure all the applications are equal as per the plans.

Collecting data and aggregating the results for other members of the team to use in reports for the clients

Due to the seasonal nature of the work and the importance of timing some flexibility will be needed in the working day at busy times of the year but will be quieter at others. Overtime is available during busy periods.

Training can be provided in any areas of weakness.

A driving license is required to visit sites in the local area
