Garden Centre Marketing & Social Media Assistant

Our client is a large independent Essex based garden centre who are looking for a Garden Centre Marketing & Social Media Assistant. This varied office-based role involves supporting all of our client's marketing and merchandising activities, including social media, web site, printed materials and photography.

Duties will include the following but will vary depending on the day-to-day needs of the business, a full description is available:
Retail point-of-sale sign production: From files or other information provided, add product-specific information to produce individual signs using existing/agreed templates.
Create new designs for non-product signage, in keeping with existing templates and design direction.
Contribute to annual design evolution for major centre change overs, from gardening focus to Christmas and back again.
Oversee physical sign production and display - e.g. ensuring quality, correct materials/colours and types being used appropriately.
Help to police the tone of voice/style of any new sign requests according to agreed design guidelines and brand personality.
Ad-hoc production of incidental signage and bespoke items to assist with merchandising activity.

Social media:
Responding to post comments, encouraging and participating in conversations with audiences.
Answering direct messages.
Assisting with photography for our client's Facebook posts and web site.

There are key skills required to be successful in this position:
High level of written English skill, including spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Ability to comprehend a design brief and produce design deliverables to satisfy it.
High attention to detail to ensure quality and consistency across all work.
Ability to contribute to ideas and collaborate with others to find the best solutions possible, taking into account available resources and constraints.
High level of technical competency with standard office software and specialist graphic design packages such as Affinity Designer and MS Publisher.
Photo editing and retouching skills, including colour correction/grading, isolation, compositing etc.
Typographic understanding (and restraint!)
Ability to quickly learn and become competent in other software applications.
Familiarity with Wordpress or other similar web site CMS would be an advantage.

Full Time; Weekends plus three weekdays (including Bank Holidays)
28 days holiday in a full holiday year
