The Business

Here at More People we specialise in all things food. From the growers, distributers, processors and manufacturers, and equipment manufacturers, we cover every aspect of getting food from the fields to your table.

We are currently recruiting for one of the UK's leading manufacturers of fully automated equipment for the Food and Beverage Industry. The business has a long history in the design of fully bespoke solutions used in the manufacture for some of the UK's largest Food Manufacturers.

The business is currently going through a period of rapid expansion, with their aim to double their turnover by 2028. This has opened up a range of exciting new opportunities at all levels for candidates looking to further their own careers.

The Role

The Graduate Automation Engineer will be joining the business' Software Development Team working to develop PLC and SCADA Control systems for their various products and projects. This will vary greatly, with some work requiring the adaptation or updating of existing code, whereas new or bespoke projects will require a blank page approach and the writing of everything from scratch.

The role will vary from desk based development work, to live coding within their workshop working with various robotic systems to test the performance of the code and product. As much as the role is Hydrid, with the ability of Engineers to work from home, the Automation Engineer will need to be on site during the testing phase to be able to run live tests. There will also be some site visits required during the commissioning phase of the projects.

Project timescales can vary from 4 weeks to 18 months depending on the size, scope and complexity of the build, with Automation Engineers working on one Project at a time.

The Candidate

  • Must have a Degree or higher in Computer Science, IT or similar Software Course.
  • Must have an understanding of / experience with writing PLCs or SCADA
  • Must have Valid Driving License and Passport.
