This is your chance to take the lead in a thriving, successful nursery. With a strong team, modern facilities, and a commitment to innovation, this business is looking for someone to drive propagation forward-and they're ready to support your growth too.

The Role

As Lead Propagator, you'll be responsible for the production of over 1.25 million young plants annually, leading a small team of 5 and ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and innovation.

This is a hands-on role, which will see you oversee propagation from seed and cuttings, manage stock plants, and ensure everything runs smoothly. You'll also play a key role in developing new techniques and mentoring your team.

Day-to-Day You'll Be:

  • Planning and prioritising propagation schedules
  • Monitoring crop health, irrigation, feeding, and weaning.
  • Managing stock plants and forecasting yields
  • Leading and motivating a team of up to six staff.
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating production systems
  • Driving innovation in propagation methods and materials
  • Ensuring safe working practices and clean, organised workspaces
  • Liaising with other departments to keep everything running smoothly.

What You'll Need

  • Proven experience in a commercial nursery, and experience in propagation
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach
  • Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities
  • A horticultural qualification and PA1 are desirable-but not essential.
  • A passion for plants, people, and continuous improvement

What You'll Get

  • A full-time, permanent role with real responsibility
  • Structured training and development, including IPPS membership.
  • The chance to work with one of the UK's most respected growing teams.
  • Opportunities to innovate and make your mark.
  • A supportive, collaborative environment where your ideas matter
