Our client is an independent garden centre dedicated to providing customers with a wide range of high-quality plants, gardening supplies, and expert advice. With a commitment to promoting a love for gardening and outdoor living, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Plant Area Manager to join their team and lead the department.
Position Overview: As the Plant Area Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of the horticultural department. You will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring the health and vitality of our plant inventory, and delivering exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of horticulture, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for creating a vibrant and inspiring garden centre environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the team, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies to showcase plants and garden products effectively.
- Provide expert advice to customers on plant selection, care, and garden maintenance.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and coordinate restocking efforts.
- Oversee the maintenance of outdoor display areas, ensuring a visually appealing and well-organised layout.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a horticultural management role.
- Strong knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and horticultural best practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Customer-focused with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
