This role is an exciting opportunity to onboard with a market-leader in their respective industry who are now looking for a talented Procurement Manager to join the team!
The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing procurement activities within the integrated supply chain, with a particular focus on collaboration with genetics companies and dairy farmer suppliers/
The role involves strategic national sourcing, supplier relationship management, TB price negotiation, and ensuring the
timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality product. The Procurement Manager will work closely with genetics companies to grow and maintain the supply base and with dairy farmer suppliers to secure a consistent and sustainable supply of products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Sourcing:
o Develop and implement procurement strategies for Gamechanger calves,
ensuring alignment with company goals and market demands.
o Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, working with genetics partners and
the Blade Farming collection centres.
o Conduct market research and analysis to understand industry trends, pricing,
and availability.
o Management of national calve collection centres
* Supplier Relationship Management:
o Establish and maintain strong relationships with genetics companies to
integrate Gamechanger calves growth into the supply chain, along with
managing the test calves plan.
o Build and nurture long-term partnerships with dairy farmer suppliers to ensure
a consistent and high-quality calve supply.
o Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and collaborate on
improvement initiatives.
* Contract Negotiation and Management:
o Negotiate TB contracts and agreements with calve suppliers to secure
favourable terms, pricing, and conditions.
o Ensure compliance with standard terms and manage any terms-related issues
or disputes.
* Quality Assurance:
o Collaborate with genetics companies and suppliers to ensure the procurement
of high-quality calves that meets company standards.
o Work with the farm quality assurance teams to continue compliance.
o Address and resolve any quality issues with suppliers in a timely manner.
* Inventory and Logistics Management:
o Monitor forecast and order levels to ensure adequate supply and minimise
excess or shortage.
o Coordinate with procurement team to ensure efficient transportation of calves.
o Implement best practices geographical demand forecasting along with rearing
and finishing Heads of Department.
