Procurement Manager | Fresh Produce | Kent

We are currently working with a very progressive and forward thinking fresh food business, who have made some brilliant strides forward in recent years. As a result of this they have a new requirement for an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team, thanks to the growth they have experienced. This is a great opportunity to join a business who are very much in the ascendency and to help continue this growth. This role will suit a hands on Procurement Manager who will get under the skin of the whole supply chain and ensure it is running as effectively as possible.

The Job:
You will be creating and delivering the procurement strategy for this category.
This will involve developing existing supplier relationships and sourcing new ones where appropriate.
You will also be responsible for managing the forecasts and budgets, ensuring you are working closely with the commercial and technical teams to gain team buy in.
This role will also involve close links with the Retailer to ensure a good collaborative approach.

The Candidate:
You must have had experience of sourcing sea freighted fresh produce as this is a core part of the role.
The business is open minded on the level of experience you bring whether you have 2-3 years or 10+ years. Your salary will be commensurate with experience.
Experience of developing (not just managing) supplier relationships is important as they work very closely with all of their partners.
This is about a very collaborative and long term approach. Spot buying will naturally be required but it is more important to set up and deliver a consistent end to end approach.
