We are excited to be working with one of the UK's leading wholesale nursery who is looking for a Production Manager to join their busy operation.

About Our Client

Our client is a leading grower and supplier of plants to the landscape and construction industries. They are a family-owned and run business with a great reputation for quality and service. The existing team is made up of a group of professional horticulturists who have a fantastic amount of knowledge to pass on to someone who is keen and willing to learn. They have some ambitious plans to grow their business further and are therefore looking to fill this newly created role. The stock that they grow and sell includes a mix of shrubs, hedging, perennials, grasses, and ferns.

About the Role

In this role, you will be reporting directly to the Directors, and supporting the business with developing a new site. This will include site development, planning, and maintenance. You will hold the responsibility to produce high-quality plants, and ensuring your team remain motivated and passionate. You will oversee the crop walking, irrigation, and integrated crop management. Recruitment, training, and staff rotas will also fall into your remit.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have experience working in a commercial nursery environment and have a passion for producing top quality plants. You will be excited about the prospect of setting up a brand-new site and keen to support the business through the process. You will be a strong communicator and be confident in managing a team of people around you.
