About Our Client
Our client is a well-established grower, importer, packer and distributor of fresh produce. They are a multi-national business with operations in the UK, Spain and South Africa. They offer a variety of produce, including soft fruit, citrus, salads and vegetables. They work hard to add value to their customers and the team is made up of passionate fresh produce specialists. The business has grown over the years to offer more services and variety of products. They supply retail, wholesale and foodservice channels.

About the Role
This role will support the senior management team with the day-to-day management of the retail customers. This will be all-encompassing and you will be on top of all things happening in the supply chain to those retail customers. You will liaise with growers, 3PL firms, freight clearing and the customers to ensure the smooth supply of produce into the retailers RDC's. You will help the business continue to thrive in the retail space by offering simple, no-nonsense service and a supply of quality produce. You will have the ambition to develop into a director role in the future and will help build the business for the long term. You will be able to prioritise your tasks and be highly organised in the delivery of stock.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will come from the fresh produce sector and will understand the fresh produce supply chain and all of its challenges. You will be very down-to-earth and will be willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in wherever required. Prima-donna's need not apply. You will be a real team player who is willing to do what is right for the business and customers. Ideally, you will speak Spanish, although this is not a must.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will be able to work at a real pace and have a great attitude. You will be willing to work hard to progress your career and develop your role within the business. The vast majority of the team have been with the business for many years and there is real potential for you to become a director in the future. You will be able to commute to the office on a daily basis and be able to start work by ~6-7am.

The successful applicant will move through a two-stage interview process which will include meeting the directors and the incumbent who is retiring in 2022 (hand over available) This process can take time to complete, but our client is committed to making this key hire.
