The Company

Based near Banbury, our client is a well-established multi-disciplined, rural business with a focus on farm business consultancy and land/property management.

We are looking to recruit a general practice rural surveyor who has a passion for agriculture. We are looking for someone who can add true value to a wide-ranging client base.

The Role

In your general role, you will be providing cost effective advice to clients and assisting other consultants in advice delivery. You will also be involved in the marketing of the company to prospective clients.

More specifically, you will undertake strategic farm business reviews and produce farm/Estate budgets, cashflows and reports. You will help clients to make business decisions and assist them with new schemes during the agricultural transition period. You will provide advice to clients SFI, Countryside Stewardship and other funding opportunities, as well as biodiversity net gain and Carbon opportunities.

You will undertake work surrounding Compensation & Utilities, Rural Planning & Development and tenancy work - both Rural & Commercial. You will oversee contract farming agreements and other joint ventures. You will assist with, and if appropriate leading on, delivery of a range of development and diversification opportunities. You will also be managing property portfolios, both residential and commercial whilst developing your own specialist area.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a qualified member of the RICS/CAAV with at least 2 years PQE. Owing to the close-knit nature of the team focused and self-motivated. You will be committed to high standards of work and providing a quality service to clients. You will possess excellent communication skills, with an ability to form a rapport with clients and have a knowledge of and enthusiasm for farming, property and rural matters. You will have a sound understanding of the principles of accounting and budgeting. Practical farming experience would be beneficial as would a commercial or technical background. A full UK driving licence and own car are required for the role.
