Senior Planner - Infrastructure Consents
Job description
You will be delivering on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) across various project sectors including rail, road, energy, high voltage transmission, business and commercial NSIPs. We have a strong forward workload of green energy projects which provides an opportunity to be developed and places the business at the forefront of progressing some of the most ambitious renewable energy initiatives in the UK.
The role
- Responsible for the provision of professional planning advice to clients on a variety of planning matters on sites across the UK
- Preparation and submission of major planning applications alongside negotiation with local authorities and other statutory stakeholders on behalf of clients on planning applications and other planning related matters
- Providing support to the DCO lead and work with the wider planning and technical terms on major projects
- Written representations and supporting on informal hearings and public inquiry appeals and preparation and submission of Local Plan representations and promotion of sites through the process
- Promoting the business at networking events, seminars and providing technical updates to the market
- Responsible for the management and delivery of projects, including program and budgeting autonomy
What does it take to be successful?
- As a key member of our growing and ambitious team, you will be able to carve your own niche, contributing to the delivery of high-quality professional services to our existing clients, promoting our services to new clients and promoting our expertise to the market working with our marketing and business development teams, and colleagues within the business.
- This role would be ideal for a RTPI (or equivalent) qualified planner with demonstrable experience and knowledge of the NSIP and/or similar regimes, or with experience managing large and complex applications.
- It would be beneficial if your planning experience was gained in a consultancy or local authority environment where previous you have had exposure to managing different consultants. Excellent report skills are required along with a sound knowledge of planning law and practice. If you have experienced related to the rail, transport and utilities this would be advantageous.
- A willingness and ability to travel throughout the UK is an advantage, but flexibility and ensuring a healthy work/life balance is one of the key ambitions here.
