The Business

We are currently working with one of the fastest growing businesses within the Process and Food Sector, who are currently expanding across the board as part of their long-term growth strategy. The business has already doubled their head count over the last 3 years, with the plan to add an additional six heads by the end of 2023 across various departments.

Thanks to their ever-increasing workload, they now require an additional Service Engineer to join their Service Team.

The Role

The Service Engineer will be covering the UK, attending Customer's sites to assist and deal with any breakdowns or planned maintenance work. Hands on this will be a mix of both Electrical and Mechanical work, on various automated process based manufacturing equipment within Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Chemical Process Plants.

All of their equipment is PLC controlled and the Service Engineer will need to be able to Fault Find through to Inputs and Outputs using a Mustimeter or diagnosing via the HMI. The Bulk of the systems use either Siemens, Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi, however there is no need or requirement to be able to adjust, modify or write code.

The Service Engineer will also be involved in the Installation and Commissioning of new equipment, however this only makes up a small proportion of the day to day role. There will also be the requirement to assist with the readying of new equipment at their main site near Peterborough ahead of new installations.

On average, the Service Engineers will generally be away one night a month, however for larger installs it may require staying away for up to a week at time, although this will be few and far between. There would also be some weekend call out work for urgent breakdowns, however this is also rare, with one call out on average a month.
