Job Title - Field Service Engineer

Location - Covering UK Wide (2 nights away a week on average)

Salary - Up to £40,000 per annum (OTE £45k - £50k)

Hours - Monday - Friday (37.5 Hours per week)

Overtime - Door to door pay and overtime (OTE £45K+), £40 per night away stay bonus, plus meals

Benefits - Company Car, Fuel Card, Expenses, Pension

The Business

Here at MorePeople we specialise in all things food. From the growers, distributers, processors and manufacturers, and equipment manufacturers, we cover every aspect of getting food from the fields to your table.

We are currently recruiting for one of the most well known Food Manufacturing Equipment suppliers in the business. With a global presence, they supply to a wide array of food manufacturers across the UK and abroad. Their end of line automated machinery, including X-Ray Machines, Metal Detectors and Checkweighers, and thanks to continued growth they are looking to expand their Field Service Team to meet their growing demand.

The Role

The Field Service Engineer will be required to attend customer's sites across the UK for both routine annual services and attending breakdowns. All routine service calls are booked with customer's months in advance so you will have full visibility of your movements.

Hands on the work will be both Electrical and Mechanical in nature so the business are looking for a candidate equally adept in both. You will be required to fault find with a multimeter against electrical drawings and interrogate PLCs to diagnose faults, however the business will provide full PLC training to allow you diagnose faults.

The role is fully remote, with parts being sent ahead to customers prior to any work or carried as stock in your Van. Once a month you may be required to attend one of their customer's sites in Europe. This would, be at maximum, one night away per month. Weekend work is also voluntary and done as overtime on a first come first service basis for those looking to earn extra.

The Candidate

The Business are ideally looking for someone who…

  • Has a recognised Electrical Qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, Apprentice, etc)
  • Can fault find with a multimeter and read Electrical drawings
  • Has experience fault finding and repair Pneumatic Systems
  • Has a Full UK Driving License and valid UK Passport
  • Be willing to stay away up to nights a week when required
