Job Title - Service, Installation & Commissioning Engineer

Location - Must be commutable to Sandy (Bedfordshire) / Covering UK and some Overseas

Salary - £38,500 + overtime (x1.5 after 38 hours) OTE £45k+

Here at More People we specialise in all things food. From the growers, distributers, processors and manufacturers, and equipment manufacturers, we cover every aspect of getting food from the fields to your table.

We are currently recruiting for one of the World's best known manufacturers of food processing equipment, supplying their machinery to household brands across the World. Their fully automated systems can produce a wide variety of foods, including beverages, dairy products, dressings and sauces, desserts, soups, and meat and poultry. They supply to a wide array of business from small independents up to large multinationals including Coca Cola, Princes and Bakkavor.

The Role

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for routine services, breakdowns, and installation and commissioning of new equipment. This could range from a single stand alone machine to a fully automated production line.

Day to day the work will be split between their manufacturing site in Bedfordshire, service work across the UK, and installation work abroad. 80% of the work will be UK at customer's sites, with the remaining time spent abroad in countries like Australia, the United States and South Africa, for up to a maximum of two weeks at a time.

Hands on the work will be an equal split between Electrical and Mechanical work, with the Service Team made up of a engineers of both biases. The business is happy to look at candidates with both Electrical or Mechanical biases.

Thanks to the experience across the Team, the business are able to provide full product training so are happy to look at candidates from outside the food industry.

The Candidate

  • Must have a recognised Electrical or Mechanical Qualification.
  • Must have had experience servicing, maintaining, installing or commissioning automated machinery.
  • Must have experience working on automated equipment.
  • Must have valid passport
  • Must have a full UK driving license.
