The Business

A well established family business in the fresh produce industry, they have multiple sites across the country and want you to oversee an area of the supply chain across 2 of those sites.

The Role

You will play a vital role within the business, managing, organising, and leading all activities within the Despatch area of the factory.

About you

  • Previous experience of warehouse management
  • Previous experience of managing a team within a food manufacturing environment
  • Forklift licence
  • IT literate
  • Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated & enthusiastic
  • Able to manage time and work under pressure to tight deadlines

Duties to include:

  • Daily tray stock checks
  • Hiring and de-hiring of trays
  • Liaising with haulers to arrange any specials, or delay collections as required by Production
  • Investigating and providing evidence as required for incorrect deliveries
  • Attending weekly meeting with Planning to confirm any uplift in forecast requiring extra trays
  • Co-ordinating peak volumes to the freezer and returning product to site as required by Planning
  • Management of the Despatch team to ensure consistency within ways of working
  • Co-ordinating successful shift handovers
  • Ensuring the working area is as per required GMP standard - always audit ready
  • H&S within the department and co-operating with the rest of the factory
