Technologist - Sustainability

We are working with a leading supplier of fresh produce. They are committed to growing food responsibly and reducing their environmental footprint across every part of the business and supply chain. We are now looking for a Technologist - Sustainability to help drive this mission forward.

The Opportunity

As part of our technical function, you'll be the specialist voice on sustainability and innovation.
You will:

• Shape their sustainability strategy -track key environmental KPIs and report progress to stakeholders.
• Reduce environmental impact - collect and analyse carbon data (including scope 3), support their Net Zero roadmap and ensure compliance with UK, EU and international legislation.
• Champion innovation - research and recommend new technologies, lead projects with growers and suppliers, and develop solutions that improve resource efficiency.
• Collaborate across the supply chain - build relationships with customers, suppliers, regulators and internal teams to share best practice and drive measurable improvements.

What We're Looking For

• Strong understanding of UK and EU environmental regulations and standards.
• Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. Manufacture 2030, WRAP) is an advantage.
• Advanced Excel and solid MS Office skills.
• Analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving ability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communicator who can build relationships across all levels and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Fresh produce or agri-food sector knowledge is a plus.
• Flexibility to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
