About the Role: In this varied role you will support the Technical Director to drive the technical agenda for Melcourt, undertaking all aspects of the development of new products. You will take responsibility for growing trials, producing your own analytical reports and findings. You will manage the regulatory bodies, membership and auditing on behalf of the business. You will communicate with raw material suppliers on any technical requirements or issues and keep abreast of technical developments within the industry. You will also attend conferences, seminars and trade exhibitions to promote the business. This role offers fantastic opportunities for career development and progression within the business.
The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for candidates who are educated to degree level, ideally in a science or horticulture related subject. You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience and a proven track record within a relevant technical position. You will be recognised for your analytical mind and excellent numerical and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of horticultural growing media would be advantageous as would a keen interest in the sector. You will need to be a confident communicator as the role includes presenting to growers, retailers, conferences and gardening groups as and when required.
Salary and Benefits: This role offers a competitive salary, depending on experience. Benefits include a car allowance, excellent pension and bonus. The role will be located in Tetbury but there may be flexibility to work from home for the right candidate.
