About Our Client
Our client is a leading supplier of garden products to a number of garden centres and retailers. They are currently going through a period of substantial growth due to their quality products, relationships with customers and service levels. They are an established, family-run business with a great reputation within the industry. They operate a very hands-on business and have an entrepreneurial style. They have some exciting growth plans and are actively looking to enter new/add-on categories - which is how this role has come about.

About the Role
This role will focus on sourcing timber-based products that add value to the product range and offering for customers. You will utilise your timber category experience to source products such as fencing, trellis, sheds, furniture, arbours, gazebos etc. You will build relationships with suppliers and create robust supply chains that ensure you can fulfil orders, create competitive ranges of products and add value to the customer base and consumers. Our client has the capability to construct the products in their workshop if sourcing raw materials would be advantageous, equally, should it be better to source finished products, there is also plenty of storage on-site. You will be able to create a plan and strategy for reaching the market, plus be hands-on and deliver your plan. Our client is aware that it will take time to get this business unit up and running.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering sourcing solutions for timber-based products that go into the garden and leisure sectors. You will have knowledge of supply channels, key manufacturers, raw material suppliers, routes to market etc to be able to build a strategy and deliver on a quality range of products that are competitive in the garden centre sector. You will have a track record of negotiating with suppliers whilst building long-term supply partnerships. Ideally, you will have experience in dealing with customers, but product sourcing is very much the focus of this role.

Minimum Requirements
Due to the niche category of this role, you will need timber or timber product sourcing experience to be considered for this position.
