Trainee Assistant Grower | Norwich | £DOE

Looking to grow your horticulture career with a business that truly invests in its people?
Whether you're early in your career or looking for that next step, this could be the role that sets you up for long-term success.

This innovative nursery grows high-quality crops year-round in glass, supplying major supermarkets and garden centres. They're committed to cultivating not just plants, but also passionate growers - offering training, development, and a supportive team environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of the Growing Team, you'll play a hands-on role in all aspects of crop production, from seed to dispatch. Working closely with the Head Grower and wider team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting day-to-day crop husbandry, irrigation, and pest & disease management

  • Taking part in regular crop walks, collecting plant measurements and observations

  • Helping to maintain quality control across greenhouse tasks

  • Participating in and supporting trial management, including data collection and reporting

  • Developing skills in Integrated Pest Management - including scouting, trap monitoring, and recording infestation trends

What They're Looking For

  • A qualification in horticulture (or a strong base of practical experience)

  • Enthusiasm for commercial growing and a desire to continually learn

  • A proactive mindset - you take ownership, pay attention to detail, and get stuck in

  • Familiarity with greenhouse crops like tomatoes and cucumbers is a plus

  • Tech confidence - or at least a willingness to learn data entry apps and basic Microsoft Office

  • A team player who brings energy and a can-do attitude

Why Join?

You'll be joining a team that lives and breathes its values - ownership, energy, excellence, and care. They're always looking to innovate, always focused on quality, and always supporting their people.

Expect a busy, hands-on environment where no two days are the same - and your contribution genuinely matters.
