Job description
Are you a hands-on, organised, and proactive warehouse professional looking for your next opportunity? We're supporting a leading, well-established business in the fresh produce sector as they seek a skilled Warehouse Operative to join their team at their temperature-controlled site.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety in their day, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
The Role
As a Warehouse Operative, you'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out of the site. From assembling and loading pallets for customer deliveries to coordinating transport and maintaining stock accuracy, you'll be central to keeping operations running at their best.
You'll work closely with drivers, planning teams and service providers while upholding strict health, safety and quality standards. This is a full-time role working 5 days per week, which will include some weekend working on a rota basis.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assembling, checking, scanning and loading pallets for customer dispatch
- Booking transport and preparing delivery paperwork
- Coordinating drivers, vehicles and loads to ensure efficient, cost-effective delivery
- Carrying out daily warehouse inspections and enforcing H&S procedures
- Monitoring stock levels and moving pallets from packing areas to storage
- Managing relationships with service providers
- Loading and unloading local orders using appropriate warehouse equipment
- Communicating with the planning team on all orders and stock
- Printing labels for market orders when required
- Performing additional duties and supporting management as needed
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of warehouse procedures
- Experience working in a temperature-controlled facility
- Understanding of supply chain and manufacturing operations
- Solid IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal strengths
- Organised, adaptable, able to plan ahead and deal with daily challenges
- A team player who works well across departments
- Valid/previous licences for counterbalance and power pallet trucks
- Level 1 Hygiene, Food Safety and HACCP (or willingness to obtain)
