Engineering Team Leader
Job description
We are currently recruiting for a hands-on Engineering Team Leader to join a well-established food business. This is a great opportunity for someone who has done the role before or a strong engineer who's already in a step-up position and is ready for more responsibility.
You'll still be on the tools, but this role is very much about leading people, making decisions, and keeping engineering running smoothly, scheduling works, helping with ongoing/new projects and continually looking for how to develop the team and the future of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of engineers on shift
- Scheduling and allocating planned and reactive maintenance
- Being hands-on with, breakdowns and PPMs
- Making day-to-day engineering decisions on shift
- Working closely with the Engineering Supervisor
- Supporting development and mentoring engineers
- Supporting CI and small project work across site
- Ensuring health & safety and food industry standards are met
The business is evolving, and the engineering structure and shift patterns are expected to change over the next couple of years, so this role would suit someone adaptable and forward-thinking.
Shift Pattern
- Week 1: Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm
- Week 2: Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-7pM
About You
- Strong engineering background
- Experience in the food manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Previous experience as a Team Leader or a solid step-up experience
- Confidence leading engineers and making decisions
- Experience running workloads, schedules and supporting projects
- A hands-on mindset
What's on Offer
- Salary up to £52,000 depending on experience
- 2x overtime rate
- Stable site with long-term development and progression
- A leadership role where your input genuinely matters.
If this sounds like a great balance of both hands on engineering to more leaderhsip level career development, please apply via the link or email me, via lawrence@morepeople.co.uk
