Garden Centre Manager
Hours: 42.5 hours per week (includes alternate weekends)
Are you a retail manager with a green thumb and a passion for delivering a standout customer experience?
This is a great opportunity to take charge of a well-established garden centre. You'll be leading from the front - driving sales, coaching your team, and making sure everything from plant health to point-of-sale is on point. If you know your way around a garden centre and love retail done well, this could be your next step.
What you'll be doing:
- Running the show day-to-day - from customer service and merchandising to stock levels and staffing.
- Leading a team across all departments, ensuring standards stay high and sales keep growing.
- Creating eye-catching displays that are both inspiring and informative.
- Making sure the plants look their best and your team knows their stuff when it comes to product knowledge.
- Taking care of cash handling, admin tasks, and back-office responsibilities.
- Supporting the goods-in process and helping keep the centre tidy, welcoming, and well-organised.
- Working with Area Managers and passing down clear targets and goals to your team leads.
The ideal candidate:
- A strong retail background with experience in leading teams and hitting targets.
- A genuine passion for plants and horticulture - enough to lead by example.
- Someone who knows how to get the best out of people through training, coaching, and motivation.
- A confident communicator with energy and a hands-on approach.
- Commercially savvy - comfortable balancing the numbers with great customer service.
Perks & Benefits?
- A proper work-life balance - no late nights
- Staff discount across products
- Health and wellbeing support, including a cash plan
- Access to lifestyle and retail discounts
- 6 weeks of annual leave
- Free onsite parking
