About the Role
As Gardening Department Manager, you will be focused on maintaining high levels of customer service and be meticulous to detail in terms of product placement, standards, and presentation of Garden Sundries. You will be creating excellent displays and maintaining stock levels identifying trends in sales and profits. You will be confident in stock control, working closely with the buying team to ensure the best products are readily available.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in working in a garden centre environment and be looking for a new challenge or a step up. You will have great retailing knowledge and an interest in passing this knowledge onto colleagues and customers. You will be confident in running a small team and can train, develop, and motivate the people around you. You will have a commercial mind, knowing stock control methods, increasing add-on sales, and acknowledging areas of improvement within the areas you cover. Although industry experience is preferred, we are open to candidates with previous retail management experience from any horticultural or retail background.
