Glasshouse Manager
Job description
Are you an experienced leader from a fresh produce glasshouse environment who excels at managing people, planning labour, and delivering high standards?
A forward-thinking Fresh Produce business is seeking a Glasshouse Manager to take ownership of labour control, productivity, and performance across a busy glasshouse operation. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being present in the glasshouse, leading from the front, and supporting teams to deliver consistently high-quality results.
What you will be doing
Plan, manage, and control labour to meet glasshouse operational requirements
Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and glasshouse teams
Manage rotas, working hours, productivity, and labour costs
Ensure high standards of quality across all glasshouse activities
Monitor performance, output, and task completion, making adjustments as needed
Work closely with growing and operational teams to align labour with crop plans
Maintain strong health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
Support peak periods, including harvesting and packhouse demand
What I am looking for
Proven experience in a fresh produce glasshouse or controlled environment agriculture
Strong people management and labour planning experience
Confident managing productivity, performance, and quality
Hands-on, visible leadership style with excellent communication skills
Commercially aware with a structured, organised approach
Experience within FMCG or fresh produce environments
