Grower

West Sussex

£DOE + Training + Development Opportunities

Looking for a role where you can grow your career as well as great plants?

Ready to join a business that values its people and invests in their development?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected, forward-thinking nursery. With indoor and outdoor production spanning over multiple sites, you'll be working across a huge variety of crops, meaning no two days are the same.

What's in it for me?

  • On-site parking
  • Company pension
  • Life insurance
  • Casual dress
  • Professional training and development

What's the job?

You'll be working alongside the Site Supervisor, Technical Team, and other team leaders to support all cultural and growing operations across the nursery.

Day‑to‑day, you'll be:

  • Monitoring crops, spotting pest and disease issues, and maintaining crop cleanliness.
  • Carrying out watering, feeding and general husbandry tasks
  • Helping maintain the growing environment across the glasshouse and outdoor areas.
  • Completing cultural records and keeping documentation up to date
  • Working with crop teams and supporting potting, QC checks and dispatch when needed
  • Keeping the site tidy, safe and well organised
  • Maintaining irrigation equipment and reporting any issues
  • Supporting seasonal staff and helping with training where required

If you hold spray certificates (PA1/PA6), you'll also be involved in applying biological controls and agrochemicals, but if not, training can be provided.

What do I need?

You'll already have some horticultural knowledge and hands-on experience in a nursery or growing environment.

You'll also bring:

  • An interest in commercial production and plant quality
  • A practical, hands-on attitude
  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, healthy crops.
  • A team-focused approach and strong communication skills

Above all, you'll be keen to learn, develop your skills, and contribute to a positive working culture.
