Packhouse Manager | Fresh Produce

A leading berry grower is looking for an experienced Packhouse Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of their packhouse, as well as managing the wider team. This soft fruit business currently supplies into some of the UK's top supermarkets.

You will have a variety of responsibilities ranging from ensuring all work is carried out and completed with full awareness of Health & Safety policies, managing maintenance schedules, assisting in the development of crop packing plans in order to optimize technology and plant and successfully recruiting and managing the wider team.

You will liaise with the Harvest team to obtain picking forecasts to enable the team to pack the required volumes for the customers. In-line with this you will be responsible for organising and scheduling the production, shifts and staffing levels throughout the business.

To be successful in this role, you must be an experienced Packhouse or Production Manager, preferably with experience working with soft fruit or other fresh produce. You must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to identify and solve problems. It is also essential that you have awareness of Health & Safety legislation as well as managing and working within a set budget.
