About Our Client

A family-owned/run fresh produce business is looking for a Packhouse Supervisor to ensure the smooth and efficient running of their packhouse. This Fresh Produce business is currently supplying high-quality produce to Wholesale Markets some of the UK's top Supermarkets.

About the Role

You will have a variety of responsibilities ranging from ensuring all work is carried out and completed with full awareness of Health & Safety policies, managing & assisting in the development of packing plans in order to optimise technology, and successfully recruiting and managing the wider team.

You will work closely with the Operations Manager and further packhouse team, to ensure that the Packhouse function is operating to maximal effectiveness. In line with this, you will be responsible for organising and scheduling the production, shifts, and staffing levels throughout this area of the business.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have experience within Packhouse or Production, preferably with experience working with fresh produce, but not essential; Food or FMCG will be okay. You must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to identify and solve problems. It is also essential that you have awareness of Health & Safety legislation as well as managing and working within a set budget. With the business and environment being incredibly busy throughout most of the year, flexibility is key for this role and you must be willing to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in.
