Key Responsibilities

Supervise and train plant area staff, providing guidance and support to ensure a knowledgeable and customer-focused team.

Maintain the appearance and health of plants, including watering, pruning, fertilising, and pest control.

Monitor inventory levels, ordering plants and supplies as needed to meet customer demand.

Ensure plant displays are attractive, well-organised, and properly labelled with accurate pricing and information.

Provide expert advice to customers on plant selection, care, and maintenance, helping them achieve their gardening goals.

Take charge in the absence of the Manager.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience working in a garden centre or similar environment will give you the edge.

Strong knowledge of plants and gardening techniques is crucial.

Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and provide helpful advice.

Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate seasonal fluctuations in business.

Basic computer skills for inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
