Plantarea Supervisor
Leicestershire

Our clients company is growing more and more each year; so they're looking for someone to join the full-time, permanent team of 6/7. Goes up to 20-25 during peak season (Mar-Sept).
They have a manager and this person will sit below them at supervisory level.

The Person:
2 main attributes - excellent plant knowledge, excellent customer service
The business is built on customer service and this needs to be maintained.
Ideally coming from a retailer background.
Horticultural knowledge is key

The Job:
Very customer orientated - will be helping customers with gardening queries, choosing the right products and generally being there to help and guide them.
Comfortable with the delivery system, putting the relevant things aside for customers, ordering as appropriate.
Knowledge of horticulture, P+D, soil types etc.
Staff supervising as required.
Watering (all of this is done by hand) - knowledge of over/under watering
Housekeeping
Health and safety awareness
An element of duty managing (running the store as required, potential cash handling).
Expectation to be able to support and coach members of staff.
Jan-Feb the store closes and during this time building work / site maintenance happens. The successful candidate must be happy to 'get their hands dirty', very manual. Almost a mini construction site. Because of this, must be physically fit.

Other:
Must be able to drive, the business has a delivery service so would be ideal to have a 'back-up' person willing to deliver if required.
Lives locally - must be a reasonable commute.
Prepared to work weekends - will be at least one day per weekend (mainly Saturdays). Will be working 5 days per week usually but must be willing to do more over peak season when the business gets busier.
