About Our Client

Our client is a specialist Horticulture business who are committed to supplying an excellent standard of product to the sector in the UK. Although well established, they are also a growing business who frequently invest into both people and process and make customer service a real priority.

About the Job

Reporting into the Head of Operations you will be responsible for the hands-on management of both the despatch and production areas - leading a total team of around 100 people with a number of key Supervisors reporting into you. You will be responsible for monitoring KPI's such as waste, customer service levels, production flow as well as being involved in a number of process improvement projects and initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate

They are looking for a proactive, adaptive and hands-on Operations and Production Manager to support the busy function of the senior Manager in a range of tasks. You must be a real people person who is able to cultivate a fun yet productive environment with the ability to inspire and engage with the team; it is highly desirable you come with a track record of coaching and developing people. Ideally you will come from the horticulture sector but otherwise short shelf life / perishable goods experience is essential from the food or fresh produce sector.
