Sales Manager

Job description

What's the story?

This is a UK food wholesaler/importer with a very specific niche.

Let's just say: if your idea of happiness is a product range with actual flavour, loyal fans across hospitality, and a category that never goes out of fashion… you'll be in your element.

They've grown fast. They've got great products. They've got demand.

What they now need is someone who can take a good sales function, tighten it, scale it, and lead it.

Not with buzzwords.
Not with 72-slide decks.
Just with proper sales management.

So, what will you actually be doing?

Leading the sales team, setting the direction, and making sure the plan doesn't gather dust in a SharePoint folder.

You'll:

  • Build and execute the sales strategy (and bin the bits that don't work).
  • Recruit, coach, and lead a team that knows the difference between activity and results.
  • Keep the pipeline honest and the forecasting sensible.
  • Get out there and develop new business.
  • Work with supply chain and marketing so customers get what they were promised, when they were promised it.
  • Bring structure, pace, and accountability without sucking the fun out of the place.
  • Make sure everything is food-safety compliant (yes, even the boring bits).
  • Represent the brand at events.
  • Grow revenue across wholesale and foodservice.

Who will love this job?

Someone who:

  • Has 5+ years in food/bev sales and at least a couple in management.
  • Can actually manage people (not just talk about "empowering them").
  • Is commercially sharp, good with data, and knows their way around a budget.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where decisions actually get made.
  • Wants to take ownership and build something - not inherit a perfect machine.

What's in it for you?

A competitive salary, proper benefits (private healthcare included), 25 days holiday, pension, product discounts, and free parking.

Plus the chance to lead a team in a business with great leadership and even better products!
