Have you heard of toilet twinning?

about 1 year ago by Natalie Smith

Toilet Twinning funds global water and sanitation programmes run by Tearfund.

Toilet Twinning has been running since 2010. First, as a joint venture between NGOs Tearfund and Cord, and since 2015 as a fundraising source for Tearfund.

For £60, you can pay for a ‘toilet twin’, every toilet twin celebrates a new toilet for a family living in a poorer country, and the average size of a household is six people, for every £60 donation represents help for one family, six people.

Tearfund work with communities that are marginalised, and usually extremely remote, and where governments fail to provide adequate water and sanitation. They work in conflict-affected areas and regions hit by natural disasters, as well as extremely poor communities with long-term development needs.

This week, MorePeople have decided to twin all of our toilets in the office - proudly shown with a certificate above each one! We’ve opted for our toilets to be in Mozambique, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi and Cote D’Ivoire.
