The Challenge
J.O Sims is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of fresh fruit, fruit ingredients and fruit snacks. Since it was founded in 1896, J.O Sims takes pride in building long-lasting relationships with growers and processors around the world, enabling them to introduce and supply a wide range of fruit to retailers and wholesalers, as well as manufacturers.
These relationships have helped them to identify new lines of supply and develop new market opportunities for their UK and International customers. Worldwide, they farm over 1,000 acres of cherry, apple, peach, nectarine and apricot orchards and are the UK’s largest supplier of cranberries and wild blueberries.
Working with J O Sims presented a few challenges, including their location and the competitive job market. They were searching for someone with the right attitude and a willingness to grow within the role—someone who could seamlessly fit into the team and align with the company culture.
