The Challenge
Having only been active for a few years, the MSIN was run by a Chairman, Vice Chairman and a few board members all of which act like trustees, there were no full time employees. We were given the exclusive opportunity to recruit the organisations first permanent role, and CEO. The challenge was to find an individual who appreciated the need to be very hands-on and capable to create a structure and team for the future.
Our approach
We recognised the need to find a CEO who could take this organisation forward and make something of it, having the capability of leading, being strategic and communicating with board members but also hands on enough to appreciate the administrative and day to day running needs as they begin this journey. Our exclusive retained model was ideal for this to enable us to map the market and advertise in multiple areas.
“MorePeople were excellent in the way they managed the potentially challenging recruitment of our first CEO.
They took a high-level brief and turned around a clear role description which we could all recognise.
Their communications were timely and focussed making our part of the process as easy as possible.
As per the brief the very strong list of candidates was really interesting from a wide and varied range of backgrounds and experience. The interview process and appointment was made very straightforward. I've known the MorePeople team for many years and they never fail to just get it and deliver.”
Paul Willgoss, Chair, MSIN
“It could have been an awkward conversation – “no you can’t have the job you’ve called about” but it absolutely never was.
MorePeople and Guy expertly steered me around the role that wasn’t suitable, whilst finding a role that fitted perfectly.
Recruiting for senior roles is never quick, but the team were brilliant at keeping me informed, managing timelines, helping me with preparation, and then gaining feedback from me and giving feedback from the interviewers.
A thoroughly pain free experience from start to finish!"
