Job Title: Demand Planner
Location: Birmingham

This is a key role that is integral to the day-to-day running of the business and its ability to grow. The main focus will be planning, forecasting and problem solving.

The business:

  • A market leader within the FMCG industry.
  • Supplying the major Grocery Retailers such as Tesco, Sainsburys, Aldi etc.

Your specific accountabilities will be to:

  • Maintain and improve our long term forecasting system.
  • Use this to provide guidance to our Factory team and our logistics partners to ensure perfect planning.
  • Undertake sales capture and analysis using IRI Worldwide Unify database and Crunch data (specific training available, but must understand POS data).
  • Own the daily forecasts supplied by our customers. Challenge where necessary.
  • Provide insight which will guide product development direction and commercial opportunity in the markets we trade.
  • Find new ways of working with our suppliers to improve service and control cost.
  • Support the wider team in customer meetings with insightful presentations.
  • Plan the Peak (high volume promotions, seasonal) sales periods.

You must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Strong IT/systems use, with good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong Analytical Skills, and the ability to data mine EPOS data to help support sales opportunities for the business. e.g. Dunnhumby/Kantar World Panel/IRI Worldwide.

  • Confidence in delivering presentations and producing written reports which may form the basis of communication to customers or internal Directors: presenting solutions and influencing others.

  • The ability and confidence to make changes and improvements within the business

  • Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of the business affecting the forecast process.
