About Our Client
Our client are a leading supplier into the garden and leisure industry who have seen rapid expansion in recent years. They have a real passion for what they do to deliver the best possible range of products at affordable prices, with great customer service. They import many of their hard products from China and the Far East and work closely with suppliers there to develop new product ranges and ensure the best possible quality. They are constantly innovating and have seen massive growth in plants and horticulture ranges since launch. They are working with a number of UK growers to deliver fantastic plant ranges to their growing customer base. They guarantee all of their products and back their own brands to compete with any others on quality and value for money.

About the Role
This role will head up the horticulture side of the business. You will work with the buying team to build long term relationships with the growers, whilst also delivering commercially viable promotions, efficient supply chains, growing programs, financials, range reviews and innovation to double the size of the horticulture section of the business. You will form part of the senior leadership team to drive the business forward and realise its ambitious growth plans. You will manage the end-to-end supply chain and lead a team of buyers. You will utilise your knowledge of the horticulture sector to make the most of the trends in the market - eg. houseplants and know where to source quality products from. You will look at ways to increase basket spend and size through their well established online platform.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a fantastic track record in delivering commercial results and sustainable business growth in the horticulture B2C arena. You will possess in-depth knowledge of the horticulture sector and supply chains. Knowing many of the commercial growers and where to source products from, would be a real advantage. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to pull different levers to deliver increased sales - eg. product promotions and marketing campaigns. Your team will respect you and you will be able to motivate them to deliver results, whilst managing plans, budgets, financials etc to deliver company targets. Communication skills across different stakeholders will also need to be very strong.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have a proven track record in horticulture or fresh produce. Your experience will lend itself to full end-to-end planning and you will understand eCommerce and B2C business. Your commercial and financial skills, as well as team leadership and management, will need to be strong.
