Job Overview
As the Maintenance Excellence & CI Lead, you will play a critical role in driving asset reliability, reducing downtime, and leading a TPM-based maintenance culture. Working closely with the Site Engineering Manager, you will implement effective engineering processes, support operational reliability, and mentor the engineering team in best practices.
This role requires a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of TPM, strong planning and problem-solving skills, and experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as RCA, 5Y, and DMAIC.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and embed TPM principles across the site to optimise machine performance and reliability.
- Plan and execute preventative maintenance strategies, leveraging CMMS systems (e.g., Mainsaver, SPIDEX).
- Analyse breakdowns, losses, and failures to drive corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Lead operational excellence initiatives and coach the team on TPM tools and techniques.
- Support the roll-out of Smart Factory technologies to enhance OEE and equipment monitoring.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, facilitate Criticality Matrix reviews, and implement Inventory Management Plans.
- Drive FMECA and RCA activities to reduce equipment failures.
- Promote a continuous improvement culture and lead by example in people development and team motivation.
- Use CMMS data to inform forward planning and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven track record in TPM implementation and maintenance strategy delivery.
- Experience working with CMMS systems and using data to inform engineering decisions.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage contractors and suppliers, and influence key stakeholders.
- A continuous improvement mindset with hands-on experience in CI tools (5Y, RCA, DMAIC).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and maintenance management platforms.
Qualifications
Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, or:
ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or- Degree in Engineering, or
- C&G Level 3 with at least 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance leadership role.
- Experience in food manufacturing or a high-speed FMCG environment preferred.
