This family ornamental plant nursery has a long history in growing going right back to the 19th century when the current owners great grandparents began market gardening. There has naturally been many changes since, but the family's proud heritage still continues and today they specialise in garden plant production, hanging baskets and patio tubs as well as potted herbs and garden vegetables on their 8 acre site in Cheshire.

Overseeing the day-to-day work on the nursery including liaising with the grower and production supervisor to ensure that the crops are grown in the correct site/glasshouse.
Supervise the members of staff working in the glasshouses and ensure that all is being conducted in the correct and safe manner.
Keeping a general overview of the nursery and predicting the end of tasks and moving on to the next and allocating staff as required to those areas.
Supervising and monitoring the movement of trolleys in the dispatch area to the right destination i.e. sales, loading and production, ensuring all these products are watered if needed.
This role reports direct to the owner of the company.

The basic working week is 8-5 Monday to Friday with Saturday mornings as required. In addition to this, the successful candidate would be required to assist the grower and owner on a Sunday in peak weeks to help water the crops. This is purely an "as and when" requirement and usually takes around two hours.

Salary is dependent on experience and should be circa £25,000 - £28,000 per year
